Syracuse basketball player Eric Devendorf is under investigation for allegedly punching 20-year-old Syracuse student Kimberly Smith in the face.  According to Smith she was driving her car at about 3 a.m. on Nov. 1 when several people began kicking her vehicle.  Smith got out of her car to confront the kickers when Davendorf walked up to her and punched her in the face with a closed fist before shouting obscenities at her and instructing her to get back in her car.  The Onondaga County District Attorney’s office has referred to the matter to Syracuse University Judicial Affairs Office and said any further decision by the DA’s office would be deferred pending the outcome of the university proceedings.
