Federal regulators charged Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban with insider trading on Monday for allegedly using inside information to avoid $750,000 is losses. SMU coach June Jones has suspended receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Aldrick Robinson and linebacker Justin Smart for the remainder of the seasons for their repeated violations of Jones’ “three strikes” rule under which players pick upune Jones ha strikes for missing of being late to practice, team meetings and study halls, among other violations.

Two West Virgina football players, tight end Maxwell Anderson and special teams holder Jeremy Kash have been charged with battery stemming from an October fight in a Morgantown bar. According Morgantown’s Dominion Post, WVU coach Bill Stewart has not made a decision on disciplining the players.

Florida Marlins pitcher Henry Owens has been suspended for the first 50 games of next season after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. The 29-year-old Owens joins Humberto Cota and Eliezer Alfonzo as the third player to be suspended under the major league drug program. There were 66 suspensions under the minor league program.
