Former state Representative John Widowfield (R) was fined $2,000 after pleading guilty to two first degree misdemeanor charges - filing a false financial disclosure statement and converting campaign funds into personal use. The charges stemmed from Widowfield’s use of campaign money to purchase Ohio State football tickets which he later sold for a personal profit. Though both charges carried a possible six-month sentence, Widowfield will not serve any jail time.
