Fifteen North Texas football players have failed drug testing conducted at the request of head football coach Todd Dodge. Eighty-six players were tested between September 24 and October 15. The players were chosen by the coaching staff and were considered to be regular contributors to the team. While Dodge refused to specify the particular drugs detected, he did classify them as generally “street drugs.” It is not clear whether the number of stoned football players was the cause or result of the teams’ 0-8 start, the worst in school history.
