Proving old age hasn’t tamed the tiger, John McEnroe reached an incredible new milestone in his career, becoming the first player ever to be ejected in Outback Champion Series tour history.

No other player on the senior tour has been issued so much as a warning under the Outback point-penalty system.  McEnroe cruised through all four levels of penalty: warning, point, game and match.

McEnroe’s warning from chair umpire Ray Brodeur came after McEnroe uttered an obscenity while disputing a line call.

McEnroe then became embroiled in a shouting match with a spectator, which cost him a point.

When McEnroe’s battle with the spectator, umpire and society at large continued, the game was awarded to McEnroe’s opponent.

As more and more fans began heckling McEnroe and calling for the match to continue, McEnroe responded with an obscene gesture that earned him an early trip to the showers.

Being tossed from a seniors match marked the last great hurdle in what has only now become a complete career. McEnroe is scheduled for another Outback Champion Series matchup on Friday, but Dark Side has to ask the question on everyone’s mind.

Why?

What’s else can this champion for the ages prove with yet another match, yet another unworthy opponent and yet another blind and most likely retarded umpire?
